It can also be a great opportunity for dressing up your automobile, and not look like a raving lunatic. We’ve already seen the impact Art Cars have on concert events, now check out what everyday people do to their rides for Halloween. Now, do you hand out bottles of 10W-30 instead of candy corn?

Dress your truck up like a deer, but be aware of hunting signs when you drive around rural areas. And don’t tell the kid working at Smith’s Halloween Superstore you may buy these for a car – he may implement a “F-250 or larger” stipulation on you.

We this this is a Nissan GT, or maybe a Lexus, but we commend the designer for going all out with this Halloween mural.

Womp womp womp womp womp womp womp womp womp womp

We just cannot get enough of this Cadillac Escalade School Bus, one of the best disguises we’ve seen on an automobile.

oh hai – LOL PT Cruiser?

“Star Waaarrrsssss, nothing but Stttaaarrrrr WWaaaarrrrssssss…” This is how you become the king or queen of geeks for Halloween.

Widdle Bunny Wabbits just wuv when you dress up your Jetta or Passat like them. Although, this costume may result in more road kill, as cute rabbits mistake your car’s tires for mommy’s paw. Dinner anyone?

The Halloween Machine! Seen here in a local Ohio Giant Eagle parking lot. Is that Chuckie with a hardcore wig & beard above the passenger seat?

Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “got a turtle head poking out!”

Well, this isn’t exactly what we have in mind, but that kid is friggin adorable!

Umm…this is a great flag girl/race car driver costume and…uhh…what were we talking about?

Check out some of our top picks of the most bizarre concept cars at 2008′s Paris Mondial De L’Automobile.

10. Mercedes ConceptFASCINATION

Mercedes really wants to show off just <strike>what an ego</strike> what bravado it takes to drive a German made luxury automobile buy showing off both inside and out. Their ConceptFASCINATION luxury two-door wagon vehicle includes a crystal clear roof, so if anyone flying overhead wants to see you, now they can! Mercedes is gambling on futuristic designs such as this to revitalize the company during struggling times for all auto makers. The 205 horse power engine will entice a few newcomers to the Mercedes-Benz line up.

9. Mazda Kiyora

Mazda’s city car – the Kiyora – is yet another in the car company’s long line up of “flow” concept vehicles. It’s nice to see one in person and not in 2-D form on paper. Inside, Kiyora has more in common with an alien space ship than any automobile we’ve ever seen. Sure, the 1.3 liter engine isn’t the most powerful, but how much do you need when cruising urban streets on a Saturday night.

8. Nissan NuVu

NuVu (or New View) by Nissan has a very interesting “2 + 1″ seating arrangement, that will help if you have a child or skinny friend to stick in the rear compartment. There has been talk to have NuVu be an electric/solar hyrid vehicle. There is also talk about giving NuVu “Most Precious and Adorable Automobile” award.

7. Kia Soul Hybrid

Kia’s Soul Hybrid will be a huge step for the fledgling auto company. With a 1.6 liter engine and 48 miles to the gallon, it looks like anyone who pulls into a Kia dealership will leave with a little bit of Soul. We don’t think any production model will have a transparent hood – but we found it strange (yet interesting) to check out.

6. Tang Hua XY08 Chika

Another electric vehicle! The bubblicious Tang Hua XY08 Chika has a range of 93 miles on a full charge. It’s top speed is only 31 miles per hour, so don’t expect to be let outside city limits anytime soon. One thing we can’t figure out – what’s with their logo? At least it’s a friendly face. And speaking of friendly…

5. Heuliez Friendly

Friendly is part of Heuliez’s hat trick at the Paris Motor Show – a triple threat of eco-friendly cuteness! This cheery little fellow reminds us of a futuristic minivan zapped by that laser beam from Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.

4. Heuliez Pondicherry

Heuliez wanted to bring us back to the day of El-Camino, except half its size and placing an electric motor under its hood.

3. Heuliez Scooter

As for this little grasshopper-looking scooter…wait, is this the front or rear? Hmm…maybe we should just continue on.

2. Venturi Volage

The Venturi Volage is your one and only carbon fiber, Michelin wheeled all-electric race car. The compact unit uses in-wheel electric drive motors installed at all four corners with a suspension driven by a second set of e-motors. Venturi claims the Volage is to be produced with limited numbers in 2012, assembled by hand at its shops in Monaco.

1. Renault ZE Concept

Renault’s ZE will be the first of many from the motor company coming to he market by 2011. But what’s with the windows? Are they only for show? Actually, no. The acid-green windows help provide insulation, saving energy that might be used for adjusting the climate. The vehicles exterior uses a pocket of air to maintain a constant temperature. And yes, that is an iPhone jack mounted on ZE’s dash.

Copyright © 2012 automopedia. Visit the original article at http://www.automopedia.org/2008/07/08/the-uno-wheel-motorcycle/.

The Uno is the first fully functional (and non-accident causing) one wheeled motorcycle. Well, perhaps “one” wheeled – since there are technically two wheels on one narrow axle, next to one another. Nonetheless, the vehicle looks like Batman’s next Batcycle (where can we put some Vulcan cannons on this baby?)

19-year-old inventor Ben J. Poss Gulak crouches on his uno-cycle and leaps into action – the bike contains gyroscope stabilizers allowing it to remain upright through the roughest of turns. The duo-single wheel has treads only inches apart for stabilization, helping the motorbike cruise along as smooth as possible. Think of a Segway on speed with Hunter S. Thompson at the wheel. With a few hundred miles of desert between Southern California and Las Vegas, the Uno’s top speed of 40 mph will leave you needing some time to make it for a late night buffet or a Debbie Reynolds performance. Gulak feels with a bit more work this bike will perform as fast as any two-wheeled “crotch rocket.”

Not only is the Uno-cycle flashy, but did we mention it’s 100% Green? This bike is all electric, and probably looks a lot fancier than anything Al Gore could have imagined, much to the chagrin of GM big-wigs. God forbid they create a hip looking vehicle that does not run on gasoline.

Gulak designed the bodywork himself, giving it a unique feel, and straying away from trademark lawsuits from existing motorcycle manufacturers. The undercarriage is a butchering of existing personal electric travel devices: a Segway rider tilts a LeanSteer tiller left or right. The Uno respond to a rider’s lean forward, backward or to the side quickly with no need for a throttle, brake lever or swiveling handlebar. No brakes? Hmm, maybe faster than 40 mph should wait until people ride the bikes around a couple of weeks.

Gulak’s creation has been popping up all over the place as of late – from The Chicago Tribune to The Discovery Channel and even on the cover of Popular Science. The Uno creator hopes to move on with his education at MIT…think they’ll give him any trouble getting in?

In Japan, you won’t find too many Ford Expeditions crawling through Tokyo streets. And in Canada, previous Chevrolet advertisements featured cars such as the Aveo being carried off by ants. In the United States you’re more apt to see an Avalanche or F-250 commercial. At least, you were – with rising gas prices the American public, along with car makers, are turning towards smaller, safer and more fuel efficient vehicles.

Chevrolet Aveo – the biggest of the little cars

The Chevy Aveo is making its way up the ladder of GM popularity and is proud of it’s slogan “Surprisingly Big.” With a comfortable interior (it seats five adults…seriously!) The Aveo is now catching eyes on the road and in the wallets of cost-conscious car lovers. Don’t be surprised if one day there are several Aveo Lovers appreciation groups.

Mini Cooper Clubman

The Mini Cooper hardly needs an introduction. This little gem was all the rage in 1960′s UK pop culture. Today, the Mini (now owned by BMW) can be seen cruising the streets of nearly every major city in America. It’s a favorite among younger drivers, and those who have trouble parallel parking. Mini has also resurrected The Clubman, another popular (and old school) Mini model, with a whopping 155.8 inches of length!

Smart Car – it’s not stuck, really

The SMART car hales originally from Swedish watch manufacturer Swatch and is produced by Mercedes-Benz (SMRT = Swatch Mercedes ART). Smart has become widely popular throughout Europe, Asia and now in North America. Smart Fortwo made it’s debut in Canada in 2004, and only this year became legal in the United States (the federal government worried about Smart drivers getting into horrid accidents on highways, although Fortwo has passed vigorous collision tests.) A limited edition electric version is in the works for the UK; this one is not being produced by Mercedes.

VW Rabbit

The Volkswagen Rabbit is another resurrection, this time from the 1970′s. Both the Rabbit and Golf were VW’s first successful replacements for the Beetle. Car and Driver Magazine rated the Volkswagen Rabbit S winner among eight small cars, praising it for driving position, fine instruments and a strong engine. It is also relatively inexpensive compared to other foreign vehicles.

Toyota Yaris – in street-racing mode

Toyota’s Yaris is more foreign competition for the Aveo, and is loved by Gen-Y drivers, partially thanks to their clever ad campaigns (featuring CGI Yaris hatchbacks & sedans causing hijinks on the road.) …the 40 miles per gallon fuel economy also helps. Many custom body kits for street racing (like the one above, and whether legal or not) are available for purchase. Yaris is the next-generation of Toyota’s moderately successful Echo.

Toyota iQ – a new, little concept

Expected for release in the Europe and North America by 2010, the Toyota iQ is in no way related to any Apple products. It is the Japanese auto maker’s competition for cars such as the Mini. With room for three adults and one child (or some nice luggage) the production iQ is expected to be slightly larger than this concept model.
