Hot Rod Monday – 60’s Ridler Hot Rod To Be Auctioned

During the famous 1968 Detroit Autorama – hundreds of hot rods from all over the country came to rev engine and burn rubber. Converted vehicles of all types had been chopped, painted, and enhanced to represent the honored rodding tradition. One of the most recognizable to this day is still this converted C-Cab fire truck:

Winning the Ridler award for that year, the vehicle has come an iconic piece of modern automotive art.

The car will now be auctioned off next month by builder Chuck Miller at the Fall Auburn Auction, held by Auctions America in September. It’s not the first time C-Cab has been on the block, the rod was auctioned two years ago with other vintage hot rods and custom cars, and took in a cool $90,750.
