Man Tries to Take Out Entire Plane in Suicide Attempt

Listen, if you want to off yourself go right ahead, just don’t take out an entire passenger jet while doing so. On a recent flight from Houston to Chicago, a man tried to open the door of the plane and commit suicide. I guess he didn’t get enough complimentary pretzels.

Thirty-four-year-old Reynel Alcaide of Illinois is facing federal charges, including interfering with a flight crew, maybe even attempted murder. According to CBS News: “Alcaide was on a Continental Airlines flight from Houston to Chicago when he allegedly tried to open the jet door. The flight was diverted to St. Louis.”

Oh, a Continental flight? I’m sure he’s not the first who tried to end their life during one of those. A judge is ordering a full psychiatric examination of Alcaide.
