Automotive’s Top NFL Sponsors

For as long as there’s been professional football on our TV’s – there’s been automotive sponsorship during the many commercial breaks. As brands have come and gone over the decades, no commercials can be as memorable as these car ads. The domestics line-up to show off American pride – both in building vehicles and a healthy obsession (or sometimes not, if you watch anyone play Fantasy Football) with the NFL.

But foreign auto makers have also seen the draw football has on viewer ratings, and they’re throwing their best advertisements in as well. The 2010 season is no different.

American Brands:

Chevrolet
The century old car maker has always enjoyed its relationship with the NFL. In their latest car ads, they remind us all just how American Chevrolet is… because it’s 2002 and that’s still really important:

Ford Motor Co.

Foreign Football Fans:

Toyota
Toyota still with the “Moving Forward” slogan, even after that recall issue. The latest ads try to bring the human factor into the Japanese auto maker’s line up – reminding everyone that they’re really not trying to kill us, taking over the human race with their ASIMO robots:

Lexus
I don’t really know how real this is – getting the feeling Lexus used some creative editing for their Drummer ad we’ve seen during Monday Night Football. But who cares, because that’s Alec Baldwin narrating:

Audi
Audi made it to the top of many Super Bowl ads this past year with their “Green Police” saga. Yes, we know this was for the 2009 NFL season, but it’s still a damn fine group of ads:
