7 Great Sci-Fi Chase Scenes
Every so often we like to get away from the automotive industry, while still remaining in a topic of transportation. The best way to escape while staying in reality (somewhat) is visiting our favorite science fiction film transportation concepts. Between a Star Wars Speeder, time-traveling DeLorean and Knight Industries Three-Thousand (yes, we added in a ‘New’ Knight Rider clip, feel free to trash us) there’s plenty of chasing going around. By the way, these may not be the “best” in your opinions (or ours, there was much debate around Automopedia’s office) but these sci-fi chase scenes are without a doubt pretty great. Enjoy the videos and maybe even add a few to your Netflix!

What about I,Robot?

Taxi chase near the start of 5th Element?
I’m very fond of the car concept in Minority Report. I think it’s pretty damn hard to beat the Speeder chase through the forests of Endor though.
Okay, I remember a sci-fi movie, forgot the title that was in the early to mid 1960′s. It involved a future time with a detective chasing the bad guys. They were in a futuristic car with a large glass canopy and tail fins and the car chasing them seemed like a sports model, bubble canopy and fins also. The movie was about these aliens that took over people’s personalities. About 1965, around that time. If anyone knows the name of this flick, please post it. The car chase scene was very cool indeed.
Okay found that movie finally. It is “The Wild Wild Planet” from 1965.
I also found some clips of the futuristic cars too. Take a peak at what we should be driving after the year 2000.
