Car Wars Round Two – Suzuki Vs Mini
Welcome to Car Wars – where feuding automotive manufacturers come to blows in the pages of magazines, on television ads and across billboards world wide. Today we look at Suzuki’s latest ad for their SX4 five door, which has been battling the Mini Cooper in their latest Superhero-themed television spot.
This is a clever ad – and like any good geek I loves me some superheroes. But it seems a bit unfair to pit an SX4 against a Mini. Are they even in the same class? First off, of course the SX4 costs less than the Mini, since it’s production value isn’t as extravagant, and the car isn’t as luxurious (practical yes, but still). Mini’s do not have AWD – but if you are shopping for a Mini you probably aren’t in the market for All Wheel Drive. The SX4 has more cargo/passenger space – but that’s only because of the sheer fact that it’s bigger. Personally, I find the Mini a bit sportier, but do agree the price tag (usually starting around $30k) is a little nuts.
We have to give this one to Mini Cooper, because pitting it against Suzuki’s SX4 is like placing a Mustang GT500 KR against a Toyota Prius. SX4, we like you, but why don’t you try picking on somebody your own size!
