Top 25 Car Theft Cities
Walletpop.com released a report on the Top 25 Car Theft Cities in America this week, and some of the results may surprise readers. It’s like an Easter Egg hunt out there, and if you own a Honda Civic or GMC pickup best to install LoJack on that puppy. Basically, if you live in any of the cities listed below, and own a nice ride, it will probably be stolen before you’re finished checking out this blog post. Better get your rear to the closest used car dealer. Also, judging from this list there isn’t much to do in Southern California except steal cars.

Random and funny bunch of images to represent those cities. Now, what was the most stolen car in each of those cities? Was it universally the Honda Accord? Or what?! That’d be a list story I want to see.
well, dangerous Cities )
As of today I think car manufacturers are doing their best to prevent this theft.
That’s sad to say but that’s the truth. This cities are populated cities. Thats why chances of car theft are great.
I didn’t realize before that El Paso was the setting of The Kill Bill Series, or at least that killing of the bride scene. Cars there are easily stolen because guns there can easily be bought. More guns, more stealing.
More guns don’t equal more stealing. More PEOPLE equal more stealing.
Yes, I know, ignorance is bliss…
Modesto, CA. A few years ago, there was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and Revival in Modesto. It was called Miracle in Modesto. I guess the question is, What happened after that. Now it is the number one car thief city. Revival needs to start again. We really need to pray for Modesto and all our cities, your’s and mine. God help us, for real…….
In response to Carz, how do figure more guns more stealing? You don’t need a gun to steal a car. It’s liberals like you who are trying to keep honest citizens from their right to keep and bear arms. Find a new arguement this one won’t work.
I grew up in Stockton and had family in Modesto and I can believe it about both places. They are both really bad places to live so first chance I had I moved out of the state entirely.
I live in Akron, Ohio and we get a lot of car break-ins!
Carz that is an inaccurate statement. Here in Dallas, guns are just as easily bought (as in the cities on the list) and I’m sure all throughout the great Lone Star State. And yet only two cities in Texas are on the list, Dallas not being one of those two.
Way to put in the effort on finding a picture of Yakima(or “Crackima” as some of us in the region call it). I googled it for yuks, low and behold, tons of pics came up. The Yak and the Yak Valley are riddled with gang activity. It’s a beautiful area where some ugly things happen. I live in the neighboring county and I don’t make the < 60 min drive to the Yak unless for work or I'm passing through on my way to Seattle.
What else would you expect from “meth capital”? There is nothing else to do in Modesto but smoke meth and steal cars. The town is whack.
Some yutz named “Carz” said “Cars there are easily stolen because guns there can easily be bought. More guns, more stealing.” and to that I want to say what the crap does guns have to do with car stealing? A gun is not needed to steal a car. The article is car THEFT not car JACKING. And in any case, anyone that tries to carjack me is in for a rude surprise when they get my 9mm shoved up their nose.
Not less guns, MORE guns in the hands of responsible citizens. You want criminals to leave you alone? Pack heat.
Being in the Heart of Washington Wine Country, the #1 producer of apples and the #1 grower of hops in the nation, it’s hard to believe you couldn’t take the time to find a PICTURE!!!!
Carz, if easy purchase of firearms affected car thefts as you suggest, California’s car thefts would be down toward the bottom of the heap.
I’m sorry, but the people who have fed your ideas about guns and crime are lying to you. The places with the most restrictions on purchase, ownership, and use of firearms have become high crime areas. D.C., New Jersey, Maryland, Illinois (Chicago), California cities, and New York. Hawaii, Connecticut, and Massachusetts rank low on firearms freedom, but I haven’t studied their crime stats.
Firearms freedom is, in fact, associated with producing a populace that recognizes individual freedom and responsibility, and have lower crime rates. Vermont is highest, Alaska is next, but is hampered by their weather and seasonal darkness that produces psych problems. I could go on with the rest, but you get the picture. There is a reason lies are generated by anti-gunners, as they have an activist agenda. Stop the spread.
lol Modesto
I’m surprised that Tucson is worse than Phoenix, but I guess that since it’s closer to the Mexico border, that makes it a hotter “steal” zone.
Cass – If “ignorance is bliss” then we are one blissful nation.

[...] we all know the chances of finding stolen cars are slim to none – especially with California being one of the top carjacking states. But we’ll keep our fingers crossed – and if anyone spots a late model Cadillac [...]
