The Tesla and Apetura electric cars are also here, along with the Chinese BYD, a Chevy "Volt" knock-off that arrived before the GM version - so who is knocking off who here? Now, we need extensive Wind and Solar battery charging sites throughout the land, and maybe even some small scale Hydro, Geothermal, and near the seashores, some wave or Tidal power stations - not massive "Power The Nation" enterprises, just enough at each station to service the rechargeable vehicles that come in ! Hey! What a money-making concept! Invest in a Wind Turbine in a favorable area, charge a couple of batteries, and wait for sales to roll in! I like it! Why in Hell should Americans face huge tax hikes to develop huge industrial size power producers, when what we need is lots of little free-enterprisers, spread along the highways in windy and sunny spots, ready to charge our batteries, feed us a meal while it's happening, and collect a fair price for services rendered? We are no longer heavy industry manufacturers to the world and we do not need huge, dangerous fissioning fires started all over our land. When the good folk from Chernobyl return to their fields to farm them it will be time for us to look at fission-power again, until then, we can make do with what we've got, or invent better methods, like safe fusion.
