The Yugo Is Dead…Who Knew It Was Still Alive?
Don McLean once sang a song, where he proclaimed “Today the Yugo Died…” maybe that’s not how it went but it’s what we remember! Today, a day which will live in infamy, an event we feared and begged would never happen in our lifetime has occurred. Today, the final Yugo was built – it is no more.
First constructed in 1978, Yugo, which is from Serbian auto maker Zastava (loosely translated – “crap car”) ended production of their 30 year old vehicle. In that time Yugo came out with approximately 800,000 cars. Zastava is looking to now sell off their assembly line, along with a wide variety of Yugo technology. Yes…Yugi technology…
