Top 10 Most Bizarre Concepts At 2008′s Paris Motor Show
The Paris Motor Show kicked off last week, and with it brought a cavalcade of exciting, impressive, and downright strange concept vehicles. Check out some of our top picks of the most bizarre concept cars at 2008′s Paris Mondial De L’Automobile.
10. Mercedes ConceptFASCINATION

Mercedes really wants to show off just what an ego what bravado it takes to drive a German made luxury automobile buy showing off both inside and out. Their ConceptFASCINATION luxury two-door wagon vehicle includes a crystal clear roof, so if anyone flying overhead wants to see you, now they can! Mercedes is gambling on futuristic designs such as this to revitalize the company during struggling times for all auto makers. The 205 horse power engine will entice a few newcomers to the Mercedes-Benz line up.
9. Mazda Kiyora

Mazda’s city car – the Kiyora – is yet another in the car company’s long line up of “flow” concept vehicles. It’s nice to see one in person and not in 2-D form on paper. Inside, Kiyora has more in common with an alien space ship than any automobile we’ve ever seen. Sure, the 1.3 liter engine isn’t the most powerful, but how much do you need when cruising urban streets on a Saturday night.
8. Nissan NuVu

NuVu (or New View) by Nissan has a very interesting “2 + 1″ seating arrangement, that will help if you have a child or skinny friend to stick in the rear compartment. There has been talk to have NuVu be an electric/solar hyrid vehicle. There is also talk about giving NuVu “Most Precious and Adorable Automobile” award.
7. Kia Soul Hybrid

Kia’s Soul Hybrid will be a huge step for the fledgling auto company. With a 1.6 liter engine and 48 miles to the gallon, it looks like anyone who pulls into a Kia dealership will leave with a little bit of Soul. We don’t think any production model will have a transparent hood – but we found it strange (yet interesting) to check out.
6. Tang Hua XY08 Chika

Another electric vehicle! The bubblicious Tang Hua XY08 Chika has a range of 93 miles on a full charge. It’s top speed is only 31 miles per hour, so don’t expect to be let outside city limits anytime soon. One thing we can’t figure out – what’s with their logo? At least it’s a friendly face. And speaking of friendly…
5. Heuliez Friendly

Friendly is part of Heuliez’s hat trick at the Paris Motor Show – a triple threat of eco-friendly cuteness! This cheery little fellow reminds us of a futuristic minivan zapped by that laser beam from Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.
4. Heuliez Pondicherry

Heuliez wanted to bring us back to the day of El-Camino, except half its size and placing an electric motor under its hood.
3. Heuliez Scooter

As for this little grasshopper-looking scooter…wait, is this the front or rear? Hmm…maybe we should just continue on.
2. Venturi Volage

The Venturi Volage is your one and only carbon fiber, Michelin wheeled all-electric race car. The compact unit uses in-wheel electric drive motors installed at all four corners with a suspension driven by a second set of e-motors. Venturi claims the Volage is to be produced with limited numbers in 2012, assembled by hand at its shops in Monaco.
1. Renault ZE Concept

Renault’s ZE will be the first of many from the motor company coming to he market by 2011. But what’s with the windows? Are they only for show? Actually, no. The acid-green windows help provide insulation, saving energy that might be used for adjusting the climate. The vehicles exterior uses a pocket of air to maintain a constant temperature. And yes, that is an iPhone jack mounted on ZE’s dash.

nice!
More like the most pathetic.
