On a good day with a line of sight between the tank's antenna and the antenna on the remote control box, you can get close to doubling the 2600 feet range you mentioned. Also, to get nitpicky, the turret being removed has nothing to do with the roller/plow attachment. The rollers or plow are attached to a nose cone which is attached to the chassis. I'm pretty sure the turret was removed cause it would be pretty useless on a vehicle whose purpose is to drive around continually getting blown up.
